Gabriel Dufour-Laperrière: Πάντα ῥεῖ (Pánta rhei), for string quartet
Performed by Quatuor Bozzini. According to Gabriel, “Each section of the piece was composed through SCAMP, coding and working out each algorithm until I was satisfied with the result. I then assembled the good bits into a coherent whole. SCAMP let me further develop my musical processes and gain better control over them. It was also flexible enough to implement a specific microtonal notation that the musicians wanted.”
